Welcome to a lightning visit in a French TAN test!

TAN Test
Le Touquet, France
41éme Exposition Canine
Nationale s´Élevage et de Championnat
du CLUB DU BOUVIER DES FLANDRES

TAN test is based on character test disciplines made in France and Belgium. It is a basic aptitude test for working dog breeds. The dog´s behaviour and reactions are observed and evaluated in four different situations, parts of TAN test:

  • his social behaviour with a group of friendly people (6 - 8 persons)
  • his courage and willingness to defend his owner against a helper who is threatening them with a stick
  • his reactions to shooting (nerve structure) and
  • his reactions to handling (during the checking of his tattoo)

No real bitework is demanded but willingness to defend is expected.
Reversion after every part of the test is observed and the dog´s overall impression is also judged.
100 points is the maximum and 75 points must be achieved for passing the TAN test.
